Classroom Experience 10+ years
I believe every student is capable of reaching their potential.
I'm Samantha, a certified elementary and secondary teacher (K-10). I have over ten years in a full French immersion classroom, where I've taught every core subject in French. Also, I hold a Math Primary/Junior Specialist endorsement/qualification, have trained in the Science of Reading through UFLI at the University of Florida and the French version Son-au-Graphe through the Greater Essex County District School Board.
Since 2017, I've tutored students from kindergarten through Grade 12 in math, English, and French. I bring the same child-centered, inquiry-based approach to a one-on-one session that I use leading a classroom: patient, encouraging, and curious about how each student thinks.
Whether your child needs to catch up, keep up, or get ahead, I'll meet them there — and we'll build forward from a foundation of confidence.
My approach
☻
Personalized
Each lesson is tailored to your specific interests and learning style, whether you prefer conversation practice, cultural immersion, or grammar. I teach to strengths and close gaps based on what each child needs.
❋
Growth Mindset
A growth mindset means believing that abilities grow with practice. Instead of 'I'm bad at ____,' we aim for 'I'm still learning, and I'm getting better every day.' I help students see mistakes as a normal, useful part of learning.
✦
Inquiry Led
Lessons evolve as students evolve. No lesson will be the same, and my teaching methods change as your child’s goals grow and change. I ask the question that lets a student find the answer themselves — the same student-led approach I use daily in the classroom.
✿
Interactive
Learning is not about memorizing; it's about engaging with the language. I incorporate activities and culturally relevant examples. Math becomes something to explore and language becomes something to learn and master.

From the first hello to the first "I get it!"
1.Free 15-minute intro call
We'll talk about your child's needs, current level, and goals — no pressure, no commitment. I'll tell you honestly whether I think I'm the right fit.
2. A session plan built around them
Before our first real session, I put together a starting plan based on what you've told me and, where relevant, a quick informal assessment.
3.Consistent, focused sessions
Each session builds on the last. You'll get a short note after every session on what we covered and what to expect next.
4.Real, visible progress
We revisit goals regularly and adjust the plan as your child grows — because the plan should change as they do.
